Sewer Rates

Bevington and Peru Sewer Customer,

Starting January 1st 2019 the rates for the sewer system will increase.  This increase is due to a couple factors.  In the past, the rates have not been able to completely cover the total operations, maintenance, and payroll expenses for the sewer system.  Starting in January the increase will move Bevington and Peru towards having the sewer rates cover all of the sewer expenses.  This will be a multiyear process with incremental increases every year to get the rates where they are able to completely cover costs.  This will be started off by increasing the monthly minimum, and also increase the per thousand gallon charge for anything over 3,000 gallons.  (See “rates” on this site for new rates.)

The sewer systems are in great working order and no major expenses are foreseen. Warren Water is continually striving to keep costs down with routine maintenance.  The best way you can help to keep costs low is to only discharge acceptable materials in the sewer system.
